612-900-2077 - Teen in crisis? Call for help.
Open Hands Foundation Open House 2023

Above all, love

Youth that cannot secure proper shelter are at much higher risk of being sexually exploited and/or suffering chemical, mental, emotional, or physical trauma. Hope House is a safe place for youth in crisis, serving teens ages 14-19 who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness.

8-Years of Service

Since opening in 2015, Hope House has sheltered more than 700 teens, and it remains the only 24/7/365 emergency shelter serving teens and families in the southwest suburbs of the Twin Cities.

An Urgent Need

The current Hope House simply does not have enough bedrooms. We turn away nearly twice as many youth as we serve.

Hope House Expansion Project

Warm, home atmosphere with trauma-informed design to promote safety, well-being, and healing.

Twelve private bedrooms: eight in the emergency shelter and four shelter plus bedrooms.

Safe and secure facility staffed 24-7-365.

Dedicated spaces for programs, meals, studying, gathering, recreation, and events.

Comprehensive, personalized case management working alongside each teen.

Life skills addressing social, emotional, chemical, physical, and mental health.

Spiritual and culture-specific programs.

A first call for help for law enforcement, schools, and community organizations.

Hope House Expansion Project

We are asking individuals and organizations within the community to help us serve more teens and young adults in crisis by
contributing to our Hope House Expansion Project.

  • CONSTRUCTION OF NEW HOPE HOUSE

We are building a 3-level, 5,100 sq. ft. New Hope House This will immediately double our crisis shelter bedrooms, add an accessible
bedroom and bathroom, and provide badly needed spaces for confidential intakes and youth, parent, and family counseling.

  • RENOVATION OF EXISTING HOPE HOUSE

Following construction of the New Hope House, we will completely refurbish our existing 2,800 sq. ft. facility to provide
private bedrooms, make security and safety upgrades, improve mechanical and plumbing systems, and replace the roof,
    windows, and siding.

The phased approach ensures no interruption in services to youth in crisis!
